Point72, a leading global alternative investment firm, is seeking a Mission Control Specialist to join its Technology team. This role is crucial in maintaining the stability and resilience of the company's IT infrastructure, operating within a fast-paced and evolving technology landscape. Key Responsibilities
The Mission Control Specialist will be responsible for a wide range of critical operational tasks, including:
- Monitoring, triaging, and assessing technology incidents across global markets, validating severity, business impact, and escalation needs.
- Serving as the command-and-control lead for major incidents, orchestrating rapid response, restoration, and informed decision-making.
- Coordinating recovery efforts with various support teams (L1/L2/L3), engineering, infrastructure, and third-party vendors to minimize business disruptions.
- Leading internal and external stakeholder communications, including interactions with senior leadership, during service disruptions and incidents.
- Initiating and governing disaster recovery (DR) failover procedures, adhering to predefined criteria, controls, and governance standards.
- Ensuring meticulous and timely incident documentation, encompassing detailed timelines, evidence, and impact analyses for audit readiness.
- Facilitating post-incident reviews (RCAs/post-mortems) to identify root causes and track corrective/preventative actions through to completion.
- Governing end-to-end change management processes, which include change risk assessment, CAB facilitation, approval workflows, maintenance windows, and incident management related to changes.
- Driving continuous process improvements in incident, change, and event management through automation, standardization, and enhancing tooling and alert quality.
- Collaborating with engineering and operations teams to develop scalable and resilient processes, advocating for best practices, and improving operational maturity, reliability, and auditability.
Required Skills
Candidates should possess:
- Proficiency with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow and Jira, as well as incident and alerting tools like PagerDuty, FireHydrant, and Everbridge.
- Familiarity with industry concepts including Agile, DevOps, ITIL, SDLC, release management, SRE, observability, and reliability engineering.
- Experience in financial services or other highly regulated, mission-critical environments, particularly involving disaster recovery and large-scale failover events.
- A strong understanding of severity classification, escalation protocols, on-call models, and major incident management methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience in incident, problem, change, and event management within complex enterprise environments.
- A hands-on background in production support and operations, encompassing both application and infrastructure support.
- The ability to work in shifts and support a global "follow-the-sun" operating model.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and coordination skills, with the capacity to remain composed under pressure.
- Proven capability to lead cross-functional teams and manage third-party vendors effectively during incidents.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
