Overview
Google's Platforms Team is responsible for designing and building the critical hardware, software, and networking technologies that power all Google services globally. As a Network Fabric Test Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the optimal performance and scalability of Google's vast and rapidly expanding network infrastructure. This role requires a strong background in complex networking equipment, a deep understanding of networking protocols, and proficiency in test design and implementation, particularly within IP network architectures. You will play a vital part in validating Google's cutting-edge technology to perform efficiently at an unparalleled scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and document software and hardware defects, escalating complex issues to senior engineers and management as necessary.
- Design and execute comprehensive test plans, contributing to the robustness of device hardware and software through the development of automated scripts and continuous regression testing on existing Google platforms.
- Manage the entire testing lifecycle and release processes for networking products, including overseeing project timelines and plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and review test plans, identifying requirements for testing networking features in moderately to highly complex projects, and participating in reviews of both test plans and test results.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
