Point72, a leading global alternative investment firm, is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer specializing in Generative AI to join its Technology team. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and operational oversight of robust, scalable AI/ML architectures and systems, prioritizing reliability, availability, and performance.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers, guiding technical direction, ensuring code quality, and driving the iterative delivery of large-scale solutions.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, engineers, product teams, and compliance to integrate AI/ML solutions into both new and existing products.
• Manage the complete lifecycle of GenAI services, including LLM inference, model serving, and proxy/gateway layers that support various downstream applications.
• Establish and enforce engineering best practices related to observability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency for AI/ML platforms.
• Evaluate new tools, technologies, and processes to ensure optimal quality and performance of AI/ML systems.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI/ML technologies and methodologies, translating them into pragmatic business solutions.
• Ensure strict compliance with industry standards and best practices in AI/ML development.

Required Skills

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in software or AI/ML engineering, with a proven history of successfully delivering complex, production-grade systems.
• Demonstrated experience in building large-scale, enterprise-grade services that exhibit high reliability, availability, and observability, particularly in SLO/SLA-driven environments.
• Experience leading and mentoring other engineers to deliver large-scale solutions iteratively, including defining technical vision, reviewing designs, and fostering team capabilities.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
• Strong foundational understanding of distributed systems, major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and modern CI/CD practices.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent communication skills, enabling the clear articulation of complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and effective influence across diverse teams.
• A strong commitment to the highest ethical standards in all work.

Eligibility

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in software or AI/ML engineering.
