Senior Software Engineer - Backend - Multi Product Platform

This role is within the Multi-Product Platform (MPP) organization, which is responsible for the core product platform supporting scalable development and consistent customer experiences across various enterprise-level offerings. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will serve as a feature lead for the Configuration Platform team. This team focuses on creating a unified, intelligent system designed to enhance developer productivity, accelerate product shipping, and transform configurations into a strategic advantage. The position involves architecting robust solutions that scale with the company's ambitious growth and directly contribute to delivering exceptional products to customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain product offerings, APIs, platforms, frameworks, and essential tools.
• Build and iterate on features to deliver a world-class user experience.
• Ensure the stability and reliability of developed systems.
• Participate actively in code and design reviews, alongside contributing to the team's on-call rotation.
• Produce high-quality code with an emphasis on testability, readability, and comprehensive error handling.
• Author and review technical design documentation.
• Communicate effectively and asynchronously with team members, providing updates, discussing challenges, and proposing solutions.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to ensure seamless integration and efficient development cycles.
• Take ownership of projects and proactively drive them to achieve positive impact.
• Contribute to team roadmap discussions and potentially propose long-term strategic plans.
• Actively engage in knowledge sharing and professional development activities within the team.

Required Skills

• Over 7 years of industry experience as a Software Engineer, coupled with a strong grasp of software engineering fundamentals.
• Demonstrated experience in developing low-latency and high-throughput systems.
• Ability to maintain a futuristic perspective, understanding the broader system landscape and evolving requirements.
• A growth-oriented mindset, seeking to increase impact, responsibility, and ownership.
• Proven capability to own and drive complex systems from inception to completion.
• Solid understanding of team-specific services and the ability to collaborate and influence cross-team goals and roadmaps.
• Proficiency in writing production-grade Python and Golang code.
• Experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Extensive experience in system design, focusing on building resilient and scalable applications with a commitment to operational excellence.
• Detail-oriented approach, prioritizing code quality, testing, and performance.
• Skill in making practical trade-offs and proposing effective technical solutions, including writing technical design documents and leading their implementation.
• Strong understanding of service health, monitoring, fault tolerance, and incident response best practices.
• Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to work autonomously and asynchronously with remote teams and stakeholders.
• A strong capacity for communication and mentorship to influence engineering practices across the team.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Golang and Airflow for orchestration.
• Prior experience with platform as a product development.
• Familiarity with Generative AI productivity tools such as ChatGPT or Cursor.
